Join the Eating with the Ecosystem Board of Directors
Do you love New England seafood? Are you passionate about strengthening a resilient, place-based seafood system? Eating with the Ecosystem is looking for new members to join our all-volunteer Board of Directors in 2025!
We are especially seeking individuals with expertise in all parts of the seafood supply chain—including fishermen, aquaculture professionals, seafood businesses, processors, retail markets, restaurants, and culinary professionals—as well as those with experience in non-profit leadership and governance, fundraising and development, food systems, food policy, research, social science, fisheries and ecology, event planning, communications and media, law, accounting and finance, marketing/brand management/public relations, and grant writing.
Our mission is to promote a place-based approach to sustaining New England’s wild seafood through flourishing food webs, healthy habitats, and short, adaptive seafood supply chains. As we continue to grow, we seek new voices to enhance our impact—fostering deeper connections between seafood harvesters, supply chain businesses, consumers, and the ecosystems that produce our seafood. We are committed to strengthening community engagement, building stronger markets for the full diversity of local seafood species, promoting sustainable seafood practices, and developing innovative solutions to address the changing local seafood landscape.
Eating with the Ecosystem’s board meets virtually on a monthly basis, allowing us to engage board members from across the region. Board members typically commit to attending one virtual meeting per month, participating in at least one committee or project, and assisting with organizational fundraising and outreach efforts. We also gather in person once or twice a year for special events such as our Annual Community Seafood Dinner and Fishes at the Fort Fundraiser. This year, we are also hoping to embark on a strategic planning initiative to further refine our mission, strengthen our programs, and set a clear vision for our future growth.
